AUDIO: Gerald Walker – “Glitch Mentality 2022”

Hip hop artist Gerald Walker returns with a new EP. Teaming up with producer Sledgren, Walker keeps the energy sharp and determined here. He raps about living in luxury with hard work paying off – “Milwaukee raised me, now New York City pays me” from “Not All Who Wander Are Lost” is easily one of the hardest bars on the tape, reflecting that Walker may thrive in an industry city but he’ll always give credit to his roots. Walker’s trademark relaxed, straight-to-the-point style shines as he embraces patience and gratitude as virtues with “Glitch Mentality 2022.”

AUDIO: Gerald Walker & the 7000 – “You Can Think What You Want”

Everybody has an opinion, and they’re not always right. That’s what Gerald Walker is talking about on a smooth new single, “You Can Think What You Want.” The song is short, but gets right to the point with a verse from Walker, talking about being comfortable in his own skin. If you can’t get with that, Walker can’t get with you, simple as that. The hook brings in a serene female vocal, and Gerald bounces back and forth with his singers effortlessly. “You Can Think What You Want” is certainly a track for your chill mixes this summer, and you can hear it below:

You have to be built for these things in order to make money and succeed in the industry. Gerald Walker lays down sophisticated bars with a jazzy beat in “Unusual.”

Gerald Walker and the 7000 have a new EP out today. That’s where the title comes from; you’re either in it to win it or not in at all, and you’ll often find yourself enjoying success quietly. Soulful female backing vocals echo Walker’s passionate sentiments. Seasoned Maybach Music rapper Stalley hops on “Promoted” for a verse. AUDIO: Gerald Walker – “Can’t Drive A Parked Car”

If there’s anything Gerald Walker should be commended for most, it would be his never-ending drive to make something of his career, whether that means moves to Chicago and New York, or relentless persistence to put out music. That’s reflected on with his new single, “Can’t Drive A Parked Car”. The track talks about manifesting your dreams with hard work, which is advice that could be taken for any career path, rather than music alone. The flow is Walker’s standard; mixing melody with insightful bars in a way that is uniquely his own. Gerald Walker doesn’t stop grinding, and he’s seen success from his efforts so far. Get motivated with the new single below:

AUDIO: Gerald Walker – “And Only A Few Ever Find It”

The ever-expanding catalog of Gerald Walker just got a little bigger today, with a new four-song EP, “And Only A Few Ever Find It”. Complete with backing act The 7000 in tow, Gerald brings some summer-flavored tracks to the light, with an inspired flow on each and every verse of the project. This is the second multi-song EP from Walker this year, in addition to two loose singles, “Congratulations” and “I’m Still On It”. The fire is clearly lit under the Milwaukee-born artist, and that inspiration is manifesting in the amount of output that we’ve gotten from Gerald. However, “And Only A Few Ever Find It” is perfect for the sun being up and the windows down, and you’ll hear why when you give it a listen below:

B&E Weekly Jams Presented by Bublr Bikes: 7/21 – 7/27/19

For whatever reason, last week seemed to be one of the biggest release weeks of the year in terms of local music, especially hip hop. It’s a great sign of things happening locally, and that’s reflected in this week’s B&E Weekly Jams Presented by Bublr Bikes. This week, we’ve got brand new music from Klassik, Von Alexander, Camb, Genesis Renji and many more. Don’t forget that you can always get new local playlists by following Breaking And Entering on Spotify, and check out this week’s Weekly Jams below:

AUDIO: Camb – “Run That Back!”

As he teased with a single last week, Camb is back to business with a new EP out today, “Run That Back!”. The project is seven tracks, which in a way serves as a proper introduction to Camb as an artist for new ears that may have not heard him yet, especially after taking up residence in Atlanta. The tracks have some significant range to them, spanning from the personal “No Better” to the soulful slow jam “2pc.”, to the unapologetic, boastful “Big Flex”. The only feature comes in a major way, with a strong verse from Gerald Walker on “Slow Progress > No Progress”. It feels like over the past few months, Camb has been consistently leveling up, and this EP is hopefully a stepping stone for some of his biggest moves yet. Check out “Run That Back!” below:

VIDEO: Gerald Walker – “Congratulations”

Gerald Walker is on a productive run right now. So far from the Milwaukee born artist, we’ve gotten two singles this year and a short EP. In addition to that, Walker recently released the video for his most recent single, “Congratulations”. The clip from director Eli Taylor is just as smooth as the song itself, which features Gerald flowing over a laid back beat and accented by female vocals. For a performance clip, Gerald Walker gets his point across, and there’s plenty more where that came from, as we’ll likely get more from him on this upcoming run of work. Check out the video for “Congratulations” below:
