AUDIO: BoodahDARR Featuring Rated-R Playboy – “No Limit Soldier”

Back in January, BoodahDARR snuck out a new single, collabing with Rated-R Playboy for the brash “No Limit Soldier.” The song is full of bass and relentless flows, with both artists not holding back when it’s time for them to talk their shit. Boodah kicks things off, with higher pitched vocals talking about living lavishly and fully flexing. Rated-R Playboy comes back with a verse about taking your girl, with plenty of swagger about his flow as well. It’s not competitive, but there’s certainly an element of both rappers trying to bring their best to the table on this one. “No Limit Soldier” is a banger, and you can check it out here:

AUDIO: Saint Parrish – “Gold Dayton.”

Saint Parrish dropped an EP back in October, and he’s got some big collaborations on “Gold Dayton.” Mick Jenkins, Sir Michael Rocks, Michael Christmas and BoodahDARR all make appearances, and they accent what Parrish brings to the table. The title track is one that you can ride to, and the melodic flows are aplenty as Saint Parrish floats on these tracks. It’s a big look for Saint Parrish, who had been building his name up to this point, but “Gold Dayton.” can certainly propel him even further forward. Check out the EP below:

AUDIO: BoodahDARR – “Sukamii Sweatpants”

“Sukamii Sweatpants” is the latest single from BoodahDARR, and it’s he knows how to make some waves. The track features a trap beat produced by Aero, with the perfect backdrop for Boodah’s stylish flow. With each verse, Boodah displays finesse and flair, delivering a plethora of flexes full of swagger. His vocal delivery oozes charisma, and there’s no denying that he can talk excess with the best of them. As of late, BoodahDARR has been dropping exclusive singles on SoundCloud, which could signal something bigger on the horizon. Check out “Sukamii Sweatpants” below:

AUDIO: BoodahDARR – “Pump Fake”

BoodahDARR recently dropped his first new single since 2021. The Atlanta-by-way-of-Milwaukee rapper is soaring in the clouds and ready to dunk on his opponents here, fearlessly doing what he needs to do to get by. With rapid-fire flow, money on his mind and a dreamy instrumental to close the song, BoodahDARR is eager to live into the next chapter of his career, kicking things off right with “Pump Fake” – produced by 2PhoneNoah and Milhouse Beats.

AUDIO: Wave Chapelle Featuring BoodahDARR – “Rotation”

Surprise! What’s a project without a bonus track? As if Wave Chapelle hadn’t done enough by dropping every week for 2021, he closed out the year with an extra release on his 52 Pack, “Rotation” featuring BoodahDARR. The contrasting vocal deliveries work well here, as Wave provides his signature sound and Boodah brings a more swagger-filled flow. As the hook states, the work isn’t slowing down for Wave Chapelle, and even though he put out 53 songs in 2021, there’s still much more on the way from him in the future. Check out “Rotation” from Wave Chapelle and BoodahDARR here below:

AUDIO: BoodahDARR – “The Prayer II”

After some waiting, BoodahDARR is back on the scene with a new single. “The Prayer II” is a follow up to a 2018 track, and Boodah has a different approach this time around. While both singles have a braggadocios manner to them, the new installment has a more established perspective from the CCM rapper over choir samples and bouncy synths. He makes it clear that he only does big things, and nothing is going to get in his way. It’s a strong approach, and has some wild bars in it, but it does seem as though BoodahDARR is back to business with this track and a recent stretch of singles. Listen for yourself with “The Prayer II” below:

AUDIO: Wave Chapelle Featuring BoodahDARR – “Scared Money”

A pair of Milwaukee hip hop heavyweights have a new track out today, as Wave Chapelle continues his run to start the year with “Scared Money.” The track features BoodahDARR, and a crazy beat with Wave getting inspired on the mic. The flows are fast, and the difference in vocal deliveries is apparent, but makes for a good tradeoff between the two emcees. Wave Chapelle is applying the pressure to begin 2021, and we’re eager to see what he pulls out next. Check out “Scared Money” below:

AUDIO: BoodahDARR – “Revenge”

BoodahDARR is back with a new single, and there’s plenty of swagger with a motivated flow on “Revenge.” There’s epic, dark sounding production with harsh sounding organs and bells making up the trap beat. Boodah isn’t phased by the large sound of the track, though, opting to spit some slick bars about a variety of subjects on the track. The hook, however, is more in line with the song’s title, with Boodah talking about playing the background while watching people try to make moves from a distance. It’s always good to hear BoodahDARR push himself forward, and the track feels fitting for this time of year. Check out “Revenge” below:

VIDEO: Wave Chapelle – “Headed West”

Hip hop artist Wave Chapelle returned to Milwaukee to film his latest video. Directed by Jacob Rink, Chapelle is shown driving through town, atop some scaffolding, and hanging out with Ish and Boodah Darr. The song is about Chapelle hitting the road because it’s what’s right for him, even though he deals with relationship problems because of it. He reminds us we’ve got to take our destiny into our own hands even when it’s hard; he raps the lyrics into his phone like he’s talking to his girl, being firm but sincere. Wave Chapelle has new music out this Friday – stay tuned.

VIDEO: Mr. Nice Guy With BoodahDARR

One of our contributors, Ben Slowey, is more than on top of the local music scene. In addition to his work for Breaking And Entering, he also hosts the Mr. Nice Guy podcast, an interview-based show that reaches out to Milwaukeeans for conversations about what motivates them. Many of these shows fittingly involve the local music scene, and we’ll be sharing some of them here as well.

For this episode, Ben sat down with BoodahDARR, whose recent project “ALMIGHTY II” is available on streaming everywhere. Originally from Milwaukee, he is now based in Atlanta. We discussed his beginnings of making music in high school, dropping out to pursue music full time, being consistent, Atlanta compared to Milwaukee, and having roommates. You can check out more episodes of Mr. Nice Guy on YouTube, and check out this interview below:

VIDEO: BoodahDARR – “Demon Music”

It’s hard to take a track that only lasts a minute and a half or so feel like an epic production, but BoodahDARR does just that with the visuals for his new single, “Demon Music”. The track comes from Boodah’s “Almighty II” project that dropped on SoundCloud in May, but only recently found its way to all streaming platforms. The Jhon Benitez directed video, however, takes things to a new level, with a peformance in a candle-lit room and some larger than life visuals from the CCM artist as he delivers the track. If you haven’t already, get a listen to “Almighty II” on your preferred streaming service, and check out the video for “Demon Music” here below:

AUDIO: BoodahDARR & Emaad – “M.O.B.”

Where IshDARR had a major 2018, it’s looking like CCM labelmates BoodahDARR and Emaad are going full speed ahead into 2019, as evidenced by their latest collaborative drop, “M.O.B.”. Featuring a dark sounding beat from Dre Rodner, the pair of Milwaukee artists trade bars with tandem verses on the track. While the track may be lower on the BPM scale, the energy is high on this release, with the vocals bringing most of the hype to the song. Get ready for this song to turn up any venue that it’s played in, as well as a big 2019 from CCM, with “M.O.B.” below:

AUDIO: IshDARR – “Slow Down, KID”

We took a week off, but one of the biggest releases that was on our radar while we were out was IshDARR’s latest album, “Slow Down, KID”. The latest from one of Milwaukee’s standout emcees is 14 tracks loaded up with a style that we’ve come to expect from the CCM artist and “White Boy Rick” actor. With the only feature coming from brother BoodahDARR, this release is Ish elevating himself as only he knows how to. Anchored by singles “Slow Down”, “Fangs”, and “They Lost Me 2”, the album is part recap of the drops that Ish has put together in between longer releases, but tied together into a cohesive project with the rest of the album’s tracks. Check out “Slow Down, KID” below:

AUDIO: BoodahDARR – “Transylvania”

We may only be approaching September, but BoodahDARR is already looking towards Halloween, with his new single, “Transylvania”. Produced by Canis Major, the CCM artist gets a dark, almost organ-laced synth beat to work with, and puts his signature flow over the track. The release title is based around the opening line, “I feel trapped in this castle”, and while the rest of the lyrics run a wider gamut of topics, the feeling of being isolated does resonate in the song. “Transylvania” is Boodah’s first release since April, but you know that he, as well as IshDARR and the rest of CCM, have more cooking up. Check out “Transylvania” below:

AUDIO: LeanBeatz – “Far From Fantasy”

It’s amazing that LeanBeatz latest, “Far From Fantasy”, flew under our radar for the last couple of days. The project shows off the producer’s skills, but also features a who’s who of Milwaukee hip hop. Appearances from Sharrod Sloans, Von Alexander, Satori IV, Dee Phr3sh!, WebsterX, Kane, Genesis Renji, E. Coop, Tyso SPRME, Lil Chicken, and BoodahDARR make each track different, but as a collective project, this is a very solid lineup. If you’re looking for a sample of the names at the forefront of Milwaukee hip hop, look no further. Check out “Far From Fantasy” below:

AUDIO: BoodahDARR – “No Pressure”

Milwaukee’s BoodahDARR, who is yes, related to IshDARR, kicked off his week in a major way, releasing a new track, “No Pressure”. This is only the second track on his SoundCloud, but it’s already amassing thousands of plays, thanks in part to a very popular cosigner. Boodah even claims in the track that he’s “restarting his career”, so it goes without asking that we’ll hear more from him in the near future. There’s definitely no accusations of piggybacking off of IshDARR, either; as you’ll hear, Boodah has bars of his own and some hard production to go with it. Check out “No Pressure” below:
