AUDIO: 03GROVE FT. Skymall – “Divine”

Indie pop artist 03GROVE dropped a new single recently featuring fellow artist Skymall. This tune’s got a hyper, pop punk-tinged style that races its tempo like a palpitating heart. It’s a song where emotions are going off the rails as it touches on navigating the gray area between doing fine on your own and needing someone to make things easier. 03GROVE and Skymall team up for an electrifying banger with “Divine.”

AUDIO: Skymall – “Of Course You Deserve It, Why Else Would It Keep Happening?”

Skymall released their solo full-length album this past week. Featuring ten tracks, Skymall brings blends pop, hip hop and hyper electronica into an affective, dreamlike body of work that draws upon the complicated matters of love, relationships and sense of self. The title suggests the cyclical nature of one’s behavior when they don’t change themselves, and Skymall explores such a concept in coming-of-age fashion, reflecting on getting older and seeing the big picture. Bruiseboy appears on opening track “Lucky” and Cyrus Chrome features on “Bullet.” Skymall puts their baggage on the table with stylish composure with “Of Course You Deserve It, Why Else Would It Keep Happening?”.

Skymall continues to be prolific this year, putting out a slew of new releases. That includes “Lucky,” a collaboration with Bruiseboy* that feels like the next era of pop music. There’s acoustic guitars, but pop sensibilities and synthetic drums. The two acts sing about feeling appreciative over the special someone in their lives, and the hybrid sound carries a warmth about it that reminds you of the brightest of days. “Lucky” is an exhibition in quality new-age pop songwriting, and you can hear both acts come into their prime with the track here:

AUDIO: Skymall – “HMU”

Life keeps going on and on with producer-artist Skymall’s latest single. Stuck deciding between whether he wants company or to be left alone, the artist ruminates over going through the same cycle constantly. Bright production pops and shines, undercut by a somber piano line that creates a solid representation of his conflicted feelings. In just over two minutes, Skymall takes us an emotional rollercoaster with “HMU.”

VIDEO: Cyrus Chrome & Skymall – “Boxxy (Liquid City Motors Rockstar Remix)”

Fresh off of the release of their “Take What’s Mine!” remix project, Cyrus Chrome and Skymall have a new visual out for the Liquid City Motors remix to “Boxxy.” The new version of the track incorporates a glistening guitar and near drum-and-bass style breaks, giving some new life to the song from the duo’s track from “Just You Wait!” The video is a dual Instagram Live of the guys not only performing the track, but traversing their neighborhoods as well. This remix is just one of the standouts on “Take What’s Mine!,” so listen to the album after this, but check out the video below:

AUDIO: Skymall & Cyrus Chrome – “Take What’s Mine!”

Skymall and Cyrus Chrome already had a catchy project with 2022’s “Just You Wait!,” but they took things a step further this week with the release of “Take What’s Mine,” a remix project featuring several different producers. With a knack for infectious songwriting and solid melodics, they basically had a prime situation for a handful of producers to put their stamp on their tracks. We get two originals at the end with “All On Me” and “On Your Mind,” but the rest of the project features work from acts like Videodroid, Police Create Hippies, Liquid City Motors and many more. Check out the project below:

VIDEO: Cyrus Chrome & Skymall – “Just You Wait!”

Experimental pop duo Cyrus Chrome and Skymall have a new video out for “Just You Wait!” from their recently relased EP of the same name. The title track has all the makings of an earworm track that will get stuck in your head, with just enough experimentation to make things a bit more contemporary than most. Guitars and and electronic drums blend vocal melodies together, with the duo finding their groove on the single. The video from warmcore, candance, as well as datæxit blends visual styles together, making this a true hybrid in all senses. The video is a good example of the sound the duo have crafted on their collaborative EP, and you can check it out here below:
