Today, Ben talks with DJ and producer Jeevus Christ, whose got a number of mixes up on Soundcloud, the most recent of which is “Esketamine”. He grew up between Milwaukee and Las Vegas. They discussed Jeev’s early interest in classic rock and metal, getting hooked on EDM through Zeds Dead, starting DJing through warehouse parties, finding an eclectic sound for his production, and the video game consoles we grew up with.

Today, Ben talks with three folks from shoegaze/noise pop bands Brief Candles and Blue Unit – Kevin Dixon, Jenifer Boniger Dixon, and Drew Calvetti. Brief Candles have been a band since 1999; their latest singles “Dimmer / A Trace”, “Tape Deck” and “I Will Follow You Too / Rehearsal” came out in 2020. Blue Unit has a self-titled EP that came out in 2019. They discussed their origins of central Illinois, the Milwaukee music scene in the mid 2000’s, differences between Brief Candles and Blue Unit, Kevin’s Humdrum Studios, and our hope for what shows will look like post-pandemic.
