VIDEO: Mr. Nice Guy with Andrew Meier (Tombz / Lurk)
Our Music Director, Ben Slowey, is more than on top of the local music scene. In addition to his work for Breaking And Entering, he also hosts the Mr. Nice Guy podcast, an interview-based show that reaches out to Milwaukeeans for conversations about what motivates them. Many of these shows fittingly involve the local music scene, and we’ll be sharing some of them here as well.
Today, Ben talks to producer Andrew Meier, who makes house music as Tombz and dungeon synth music as Lurk. Tombz’ latest singles are “In the Club” and “Keep It Tight” while Lurk’s recent record is titled “From the Depths of Y’ha-nthlei”. They discussed Andrew’s move from Rockford to Milwaukee to Chicago, his origins playing in punk and metal bands, Tombz beginning as a witch house project, Tombz from a duo to solo effort, and his Lovecraftian influences in Lurk.
