Emerging jam rock outfit My Friend Gary dropped their debut offering, “The Gary Tapes,” last week, delivering a five-song project that feels like ambitiously expansive jams. “The Gary Tapes” captures the band’s energy with tracks that range from fuzzed-out jams to introspective slow-burners. The EP feels like a trip to the basement to check out a band that is enjoying finding out what they’re all about.
