AUDIO: Mere of Light – “Haptica”

Psych-electrofolk project Mere of Light released their sophomore EP. It’s four tracks that build dreamy worlds through graceful harp melodies and exquisite electronica, traversing imagery from the Midwest scenery to quiet woodlands to the ever-changing face of God. “Cruel Sister” is a traditional folk ballad about a girl being thrown overboard by her jealous older sister and drowning; Mere of Light’s take is inspired by Pentagle’s 1970 version. Eddie Chapman provides guitar and drum contributions here as well. Mere of Light exercises a metaphysical journey through sound, time, and space with “Haptica.”
