AUDIO: Yvonne Dollheart – “Narcisa”

Milwaukee’s multidisciplinary maven Yvonne Dollheart has returned with NARCISA, a 12-track album that dropped Friday and continues her evolution as one of the city’s most compelling indie/electro-pop voices.

For those who’ve followed Dollheart’s trajectory—from the lo-fi dreamscapes of Hotels in Heads, Motels in Minds to last year’s Metroburbia—NARCISA feels like both a culmination and a departure. The album opens with “Blue Raspberry Blonde,” a three-minute burst that rides a pulsing energy that sits right in the pocket between dancefloor banger and headphone introspection. The instrumentals carry the weight here, but when her vocals cut through, they hit with intention.

Dollheart isn’t just a musician—she’s a full-blown creative enterprise. Through her production company Tropicore Media, she’s been making moves in film and fashion alongside her sonic endeavors. The Shepherd Express recently dubbed her “a true Renaissance Woman,” and after spinning through NARCISA, it’s hard to argue otherwise.

The album showcases her knack for blending synth-driven textures with psychedelic undertones—a sonic signature she’s been refining for years. There’s a confident swagger to this record that suggests an artist who knows exactly what she wants to say and how she wants to say it.

NARCISA is available now on all streaming platforms.
