There’s a beauty in the primitiveness of a home recording that feels like a jam session, and that’s what indie duo The Scopes provide on “You Wanted The Best, You Got Us.” Driven by 808s and a pair of fuzzy bass guitars, the band take (literal) drum and bass back to an era of early 2000s art rock.
