When we spoke to Dak DuBois back in January about his first “mkEProject” release, he told us that he was already working on the next installment. We’ve got that today, with the four-track “mkEProject Vol. 2” that brings even more artists into the fold for a collaborative tapestry. *aya, Emmitt James, Bro.Malik, Wave Chapelle and Grace Weber all contribute to this installment of the series, working around the sonic elements that DuBois brings to the table on the production. Curating styles is half the battle on projects like this, and DuBois does it well, with *aya’s vocals working off of Emmitt’s raps, and the combination of Weber’s sultry tones offset by Wave Chapelle’s signature flow.
