AUDIO: Vinyl Floor – “Treading Water”
The Danish duo known as Vinyl Floor unleashed their inner indie rock edge with their newest song, ‘Funhouse Mirror’, which is from the album of the same name. It is a throwback rock track with a contemporary twist.
They are living proof that you do not need many band members to produce a powerful sound, as their band comprises just two brothers. It is a testament to their abilities, and they smash it with a quality comparable to that of some of the largest and most influential groups currently gracing the scene. The song ‘Funhouse Mirror’ opens with an overture played on the piano, followed by a warm verse featuring a layered vocal that gets right to the point. The band does not squander time developing the momentum; instead, they leap right into the action and get to the gold as quickly as possible.
The chorus is built around a charming melody, combining vocal harmonies and guitar tones, creating a rich character depth. Midway through the song, a guitar solo enters, immediately taking the focal point, emitting an atmosphere reminiscent of brit-pop from the 1990s.
One of the things that initially grabbed our attention was that this track differs significantly from what we are hearing in other places at the moment.
