AUDIO: Bisca Rae – “Sad Girl SZN”

Alt-R&B songstress Bisca Rae claims self-ownership with her new album. It’s nine tracks where Rae pours her heart out, reflecting on the last few years of her life up to now, finally choosing herself in the end. She puts it really well in “2:42AM” – she was stuck on a one-way and kept trying to take a turn before encountering the same things again and again; power-hungry people will eat you for breakfast if you let them. That said, Rae assures that growth and healing is doable once you step into your power, and she does so with her signature emotively atmospheric sound. “Sad Girl SZN” is a record about coming to terms but not ending the story.
