VIDEO: Dinner Set Gang – “Awful Things”
Dinner Set Gang is a new project featuring Joshua Evert and Derek De Vinny of The Fatty Acids in collaboration with various Milwaukee artists. Their debut single and video is a Christmas horror picture about a father struggling to please his daughter through excessive gifts. About halfway through, as his daughter opens a new game called “Awful Things,” he gazes off and sees a David Lynch-esque demonic figure that watches him with a grotesque smile. The band states that the video is a commentary on hyper-consumerism during the holidays. It’s not quite the jolly tale Christmas songs usually are; instead it touches on deep-rooted social pressures associated with American materialism this time of year. Dinner Set Gang have a new album out soon.
