Milwaukee Artist of the Week – 10/12/12 – Avenues

This week’s Milwaukee Artist of the Week are Avenues, a pop punk quartet that has done some incredible things in a very short amount of time. The band formed in 2009, following the fallout of The Red Letter Diaries, 52Metro, and Shock Stars. Since they formed, Avenues has already played stops on the Vans Warped Tour, Lollapalooza, and more. The band also got the chance to record their debut EP, “NoHo”, in Hollywood last year with Grammy nominated producer Davey Julson-Rieley. Avenues write catcy pop punk songs, and aren’t afraid to experiment with pop elements like vocal effects, usually a taboo for a lot of bands. The end result are songs like “Hold Me”, which you can check out the video for below:
