Gerald Walker and Sledgren are working on his next project, “Believers Never Die”. He’s consistently smooth with every verse, and I’m a big fan of the vocals on his hooks. He’s always got these catchy hooks, and the double up vocals are as perfect as anybody could make them. Be on the look out for “Believers Never Die”, coming soon.

This album was released today on DonutsAndMilk.com and DJBooth.net, which are both substantially bigger blogs than mine. But I just want you to hear this album. If you don’t download or listen to anything else that I write about, at least

I, for one, have been excited to see what he would put together as a recorded project, and he didn’t disappoint. I personally think Denku could’ve just freestyled like 12 times in one day and put it out as a mixtape if he

This one has the classic Uni-Fi feel to it throughout, featuring production from several well known local producers. Read moreJ.R. Moon landed on my radar within the last year when I saw him perform at UWM. He has a natural flow that reminds me of a younger version of Young Focus from the Cranberry Show. The “Blastoff!” EP is a diverse tape, in the sense that the feel of each track is different, but it all works together, somehow.
Read moreMan, it seems like there’s more new music from the whole Aviator/DDH camp daily. They should just make mixtapes with the title being that day’s date, and the cover could be them holding that day’s Journal Sentinel. Anyway, check out this set from Tion Fresco. I almost feel like this would be great on an old 45. “Lyric Torture” as

Fresh Prince sent me this a few days ago and I’ve finally gotten the chance to give it a listen. The sample is of a Tevin Campbell song. Just out and out smooth. I’m really interested to hear more from

This latest installment is the video for “Spazzin” over Nicki Minaj’s “Roman’s Revenge” beat. It’s clear that these kids aren’t playing around. It’s also weird for me to say

At times, it reminds me of A Tribe Called Quest and Raekwon, and at times it reminds me of a Kanye West album. Either way, I’m totally okay with listening to either. Oh yeah, and

On the first, “N**** Embarrassed”, he’s straight up relentless. Personally, I think nobody should touch “N****s In Paris” by Kanye and Jay-Z. It’s too perfect. This track

However, RockzSolid is definitely emerging as a stand out, and this release shows it. It’s a big step up for her, and she’s got shows lined up to support it as well. Oh, and hey, I produced track 4, “Hip
