It’s been four and a half years or so since Joe Kirschling released any electronic music as Ontonomy. At the beginning of February, though, he released “A Series of Meaningless Marks,” a project full of sonic exploration and glitchy beats. While there’s a fair share of blips and bloops that can feel haphazard, Kirschling never lets a beat lose its danceable appeal. These tracks are transformative and have a flow to them that feels natural. Ontonomy tracks could certainly land in the mix at your favorite club and you wouldn’t bat an eye at them.
