Old Pup’s new album, “Spider Towns,” has arrived today, bringing eleven tracks of a mix of Americana and folk. Led by the title track, the album evokes images of dusty, warmer days with a Midwestern charm about it. Led by Will Hansen’s songwriting, storytelling vocals, and layers of pedal steel, these songs feel very homegrown and intimate, accented by minimalist, yet detailed percussion and light guitars that make everything feel like this is a living room jam session from a quaint, simple group.
