DIY singer/songwriter 4est Fleur has a new collection of singles out today, just in time for Valentine’s Day. “Near Singleton” is described as a collection of songs written when Fleur was single, but they no longer are, and neither are these loose tracks. Keeping things minimal in terms of production works best, letting the songwriting shine on tracks like “Love Is Just Mean.” As you might expect from a mixtape of singles, the sound jumps from one track to the next rather drastically, but passionate lyrics and a knack for catchy melodies are consistent throughout the project.
