You know singer/songwriter Peter Hair from bands like Neocaveman and Faux Fiction, but this week, he’s struck out on his own for his debut record, “Weathering Den.” Most often with an acoustic guitar leading the way, Hair’s songs cover everything from breaking away from religious upbringing to having conflicted thoughts about circles of friends that aren’t right for someone. The songwriting takes precedence here, with Hair’s vocals often layered and soft, and melodies that are captivating. “Weathering Den” as a collection is a strong first excursion as a solo artist for Peter Hair, and there’s hopefully more where this comes from.
