Bug Moment have a new single out today, and they fully dive into the ether on “Purple Guy.” Building on the momentum of 2023’s “The Flying Toad Circus,” the band are back in full force this one, drawing on a near death experience for the material on this single. There’s elements of emo and hyperpop mixed here, with some glitchy synths and samples along the way that feel like the track may be coming from inside of a vintage video game. There’s a contagious energy throughout, though, and the band certainly have tightened up to become a force to be reckoned with. The band will be celebrating Halloween with a show at Ivanhoe Plaza, but you can check out the new single ahead of that right here:
