AUDIO: Francesca Luker – “Thanks Coincidence”

Francesca Luker from Bristol, England, strikes while the iron is hot with her new EP, “Thanks Coincidence”. Influenced by the most prominent singers in the scene from past eras and today, Francesca bolsters her name with a five-track delight ideally suited to the New Year mood.

“Thanks Coincidence” is all about finding positives in unexpected changes. It opens with “Promise Land”. This track has a feel-good groove, with the beat finding its way to the top of the mix in the opener, meeting a vocal delivery from Francesca, which is dripping with soulful flavour. Her vocals radiate the air as the wah-wah-driven guitar tones create a funky texture.

“Scream Out” comes second, with a bass riff leading the route. Francesca delves deep with a low-octave and gritty vocal performance. She steps it up in the chorus with her vocals climbing to new heights, and she screams out, leaving an indent on the way! “Thanks Coincidence” has a ballad-esque feel as Francesca sums up the message of the EP. She speaks candidly about changes in life, revealing that sometimes change is for the best.

“Sunshine” is a bright track with a piano overture synergising with Francesca’s vocals. She sings about her experiences of love, speaking about judgement and dreaming about future days. The final track on the EP is “Almost Healed”. This track wraps up the EP with vehemence as Francesca emerges, almost healed.
