Dak DuBois is poised to make an impression on 2024, and on the last release day of 2023, he unveiled the “mkEProject,” a four-track EP that features six Milwaukee artists as well as himself. The guitars and atmospheric elements make for a psych sound, but each feature is able to take things into new directions. CaseyU, Bro.Malik, *aya, Klassik, and Wave Chapelle all combine for an eclectic approach to DuBois’ sound, and it does feel like a sampling of several different facets of Milwaukee’s music scene.
