Genesis Renji seems to be back to dropping music regularly, and he teams up with Maaly Napoleon for a slower jam on “Back 2 Us.” The song is personal, reflecting on a relationship, and trying to find the true intentions of the other person. Renji leads things off, before Maal steps in with a smooth verse of his own. The two are able to lock in and have a veteran approach to their craft that shows on this record. “Back 2 Us” feels like a refined cut that can touch on emotions without going too far out of pocket.
