Emo-indie rockers Sterling released a new record at the beginning of the month. The band continues breathing fresh air into their modern take on Midwest emo with six new tunes that tower with emotive vocals and intricate melodies. “Beatnik” scales avalanching mountains, “Sunflowers” rushes like a roaring rapids and “Traveling Orville” pours with the force of a rainstorm – that may be a lot of figurative language, but Sterling certainly know how to mix ingredients into potent songs with new EP “for.rest.”
