AUDIO: Schmuck – “Stoking The Unrest”

Schmuck, the rockers from Effingtasty Records, are back and stronger than ever with their new album, ‘Stoking The Unrest.’

This new album is an array of genres, and the band has done an excellent job of glueing everything together! Furthermore, while rock is the foundation of each tune, each one connects to something much more thrilling. Pop melodies run throughout, dance elements such as DNB drum beats rattle the speakers, and funk arrives for good measure!

It’s a daring sound, but it pays off handsomely! Furthermore, the first tune, ‘Destination V,’ sounds powerful! It begins with an electronic beat and a mood that many people would connect with Pendulum. The vocals burst to life, and the tones provided by the vocalist slap the chops like a wet kipper!

‘Mistake’ is the fourth tune on the album. It’s a track that receives a new lease on life, and it starts slowly but quickly gets down to business. When this one comes out of the speakers, it sends shockwaves across the room. The infectious cadence of the stop-start beat adds an infectious groove to the vanguard, and the vocals take a new direction, with the singer delving deep and producing a low tone unlike many others in the current scene.

‘Stupid As I’ is a fan favourite, featuring a riff that will have you reaching for your air guitar in the first few seconds. It also leads us to the final track, ‘Check Yourself,’ which is exquisite! The closing track brilliantly sums up everything, leaving you either begging for your mother to come and save you or wanting to push replay.
