Experimental electronic project Amphibient came out with a new album on Halloween. It’s got an intergalactic, mysterious feel similar to the project’s last record “Tales From the Space Race” but there’s a heavier noise rock influence here. The record invokes imagery of our land’s most extraterrestrial-looking rock and waters, which creates a nightmarish yet composed odyssey. There’s piercing synths, other-worldly ambient passages, and soaring guitars that put you in the vast, alienlike American desert. Amphibient is certainly a go-to for Milwuakee’s textural experimentation; fans of space rock and psychedelic prog will find much to enjoy with this one.
