AUDIO: Encryptor – “Player One”

Instrumental metal project Encryptor is out with a long-awaited sophomore album. Tyler Campbell wrote the first song for this record seven years ago and took many hiatuses from working on it before quarantine finally gave him the motivation to finish. These passages are progressive, electronic, and experimental. The guitars feel like mountainous ventures while the drums conjure heroic rhythms. The tracks frequently take breathers before embarking on further melodic missions. Overall, you feel like you’re on a quest to overthrow an evil kingdom, but you’ve got some side quests to do on the way. The end result is a meticulous, complex, and masterful collection of tracks that you can tell Encryptor took precious time with.
