AUDIO: Neidhoefer – “Time & Place”

Brand new Milwaukee folk outfit Neidhoefer’s debut album, “Time & Place” is an exhibition in expansive songwriting and production while keeping a traditional Americana feel. Fronted by Jacob Bach, the band incorporates elements of orchestral music into their nine-song release, creating an atmosphere around Bach’s distinct vocals and acoustic guitar. Expanding beyond the typical minimalist sound that you hear on so many folk records is a welcome change, as it creates more depth to the band’s sound. In a way, the orchestral elements of the band feel like the score of a movie, with Bach and the more traditional elements of the band narrating. For a debut release, the production and songwriting is incredibly well-crafted, and there is a lot of promising signs as to where the band goes from here. Check out “Time & Place” below:
