Big Beat MKE: Opening Round Night 3 Recap
The crowds keep getting bigger at the Jackalope Lounj, and the battles keep heating up in the opening round of Big Beat MKE. Night three featured some heavy hitters, as well as performances from AWillThaGreat and Genesis Renji.
In the opening battle of the night, Main.Key and Dumros had a highly contested battle that saw both throwing plenty of bass around. After three rounds, host Twan Mack asked the crowd what they were feeling, and the call for an overtime round was made. It was a close one, but Main.Key got the win and is moving on to the quarterfinals.
The second contest of the night was marred by technical difficulties, but after making a call to restart the battle, things picked up quickly between SML8 and KD. This was an interesting contest, because SML8 is an EDM producer and KD is more straight up hip hop. The production was on point from both, but the judges and the crowd picked KD to move on. KD and Main.Key will battle one another in the quarterfinals on June 7th.
We have the final night of the opening round coming up next week, with battles between SDProduces and Tron Jovi, as well as Golden Child and Djay JC. We’ll also have performances from Rockz and Shle Berry. You don’t want to miss the rest of Big Beat MKE!
