AUDIO: Vinyl Floor – “Mr. Rubinstein”

Vinyl Floor from Denmark have just released “Mr. Rubinstein,” the opening track from their forthcoming album “Balancing Act,” and it’s giving us the first taste of where the Danish duo is headed next.

The song tells a real story about an artist and a critic going head to head. Egos flaring, neither one willing to give an inch. You can feel that tension woven into the music itself.

Brothers Thomas Charlie Pedersen and Daniel Pedersen recorded this new one at Studio Möllan in Sweden with producer Emil Isaksson. Søren Vestergaard took care of mixing and mastering at the Shelter. They brought in some serious talent too. Bebe Risenfors, who’s played with Tom Waits, added horn layers that really enhance the track. Christian Ellegaard’s string arrangements create a haunting atmosphere.

This isn’t the Vinyl Floor you might expect. The song moves slowly, takes its time. Piano, organ, and strings lead the way. It’s moody, leans into darker territory, and doesn’t rush to make its point. The single version runs 4:13, just a touch shorter than what we’ll hear on “Balancing Act” when that drops February 27th, 2026.
