Producer Permannent has a new instrumental EP out, and he brings the thickest of bass and most random of samples to “Collywobbles.” Living in the space between EDM and hip hop, we get five beats on this one, each intent on rattling your speakers and invoking a collage of offbeat sounds along the way, so you never know what’s coming next. Thin synths mix with assorted clanging percussion to create a beautifully disjointed hodgepodge.
