A new cowbell-heavy song is hard to come by these days. That didn’t stop rockers Phasing from putting out an incredibly catchy new single with plenty of cowbell in “Pavement.” The beat is addicting (because of the cowbell, obviously,) but it also cedes for guitar-driven energy and lyrics full of existential dread. The band take lyrics about meandering through Christmastime and turn it into a power-pop banger, and it’s certainly a precursor of more great things to come for the band.
