The Nile Club have their final track as a band out, and they’re undeniably funkier and decidedly angrier on “Onboarding User Manual.” The band recently announced on Instagram that they are no longer in operation, but had one last song to let out into the world. The song lives around a trudging bass line that lurks while the vocals are pushed to the brink, and shoegazy guitars occasionally add even more of a sonic attack. It all smooths out by the chorus, only to launch back into this darker sound by the next verse. It feels like there’s an influence spanning from the Red Hot Chili Peppers to KoRn in the verses, only for it all to feel like a totally different song when the hook comes in.
