Singer/songwriter Allison Mahal has a new two-track EP out, and she embraces the seasonal changes on “Solstice.” Using the phases of the moons as a basis for songs “Winter” and “Summer,” Mahal also reflects on how a person can change throughout the year. One feels a bit darker and colder, and the back half of the two-pack feels warmer and more inviting. She remains poignant throughout, however, with charming vocals that ring out on both songs.
