On Halloween, David Lopez and Heyzeus dropped a two-pack, and it’s ripe for spooky season (or just the rest of the fall.) “Cuckoo’s Nest” features two tracks, aptly named “One” and “Two,” and both artists flowing effortlessly over some haunting beats with pitched vocal samples. The tracks blend into one another seamlessly, and the two trade verses with ease, too. There’s no shortage of tough bars here, and even with the distorted vocal presence, they shine through. “Cuckoo’s Nest” feels like a horror film, but there’s quality in the shock value as well.
