Get ready, because things are about to get heavy. Detra Cortina, the project of songwriter Nick Hill, has a single out, “Proxima Vez.” The seven-plus minute epic is full of heavy guitars and punchy drums. Chugging along, things finally cede at one point to a more melodic breakdown, but that’s interrupted by a layered solo over the top of it all. With a barrage of guitars, the track only builds and builds as it progresses, getting your head banging for the majority of it. “Proxima Vez” feels like a symphony of guitars, with a one man metal maestro running it all.
