“Same Old Story,” Rahn Harper’s latest EP, shows an expansion of his sound. Consisting of two tracks, Harper’s dexterity in navigating different sounds comes across this pop and hip hop hybrid. “Notice Me,” stays truer to Harper’s signature style, with a swaggering plea for a girl’s attention. On the other hand, the title track, “Same Old Story,” veers towards a pop-centric sphere. The song sees Harper pouring his heart out about relationship issues, all the while maintaining a more up-tempo sound. The new offering is the latest of Rahn Harper’s constant evolution as an artist, as he continues to seamlessly blend different genres while staying grounded in his own distinctive style.
