Stoner metal band Asatta have unleashed their first new album in seven years. Considerably less drone-oriented than the band’s previous work, the record condenses the band’s heavy, distorted psychedelia into shorter songs. With nine songs, the trio deliver headbanging power with crushing guitar lines, pulverizing slow and mid tempos, dooming vocals and lyrical themes of judgment that all make for a hellraising venture. Asatta battle their way through unforgiving darkness with “Deserve to Die.”
