A callback to ‘90’s underground dance music, Milwaukee-based composer Joan Hell has broken into the techno scene with the behemoth track “Diamond.” True to its trance and acid influences, the song is an energetic, continuous thumping beat with distorted synth noises, reaching a crescendo as the rhythmic synth gains speed and shifts pitch. Joan Hell’s goal with all her music is to get people dancing, she told Breaking and Entering. Jessica Cook of Solid Work Studios mixed and mastered the single and Mallbat provided the artwork.
