AUDIO: Peter J. Woods – “Simple Questions”

Noise artist Peter J. Woods released a new album on Skinwalker Recordings. Between methods like obfuscated vocal sounds and distorted effects that buzz, hiss and hum, Woods delivers an abstract sound art experience containing studio versions of live sets he’s done in the past year. According to him, the album is a rumination on whiteness and the cycles that perpetuate it, directly engaged with through the final track, which contains samples of Tucker Carlson juxtaposed with a wall of harsh static and ominous repetitions. Peter J. Woods incorporates critical social theory into his sonic practice with “Simple Questions.”
