Music is an art, and can often be looked at as either high art or lower fodder. The latest composition from Dennis Hawk and Dave Schoepke is certainly on the higher end of the spectrum, with the poignant, uplifting “Rise Up.” The song is a five-minute journey that feels like watching the sun emerge to greet a new day. Layered pianos and atmospheric orchestral tones, partnered with wind instruments on the high end give this track a big feel, moving into almost symphonic territory. Every sweeping cymbal hit feels like a rush of blood, and certainly is enough to make you feel refreshed. If you need a reset, put this song on.
