The Quilz are back with a new video, and they channel the goth pop gods for spooky season with their new single, “I Can’t Sleep.” The song is full of synths and unrelenting drums, making for a frenzy of a track, but it’s really the vocal melodies that sell the song. To keep things on brand, the video features frontwoman Becky Heck both in bed and in an eternal resting place, performing the song while haunting all of us in the process. “I Can’t Sleep” could slip into the playlist on just about any retro, new wave or dance night, taking the present day and mixing it with the past expertly.
