Texas-by-way-of-Milwaukee singer-songwriter KALIAH’s latest release is a two-piece from a few months back. “One More Drink” features Maya La Maya is about being drunk after heartbreak and utilizes minimalist 808 production. “STARGAZING” is about missing someone terribly and being unable to feel complete without them, fancying a simple acoustic melody with samples of ambience. These songs come from a place of pain and sincerity, and KALIAH’s inventive approach to pop music reflects that she’s not putting herself in a box. We hope to hear more from her soon.
