There’s a new metalcore trio on the block, and High Council are here to punish with their debut single, “The Waiting Room.” The song pulls no punches, with grinding guitars and explosive percussion. The first couple minutes of listening to the new act are pure intensity, though the band does let things mellow out, before ultimately bringing things back to full force. With a melodic hook, the track is in many ways a primer for all of the different facets that could make up the band’s sound.
