AUDIO: R.A.P. Ferreira – “Bob’s Son”

Acclaimed hip hop artist R.A.P. Ferreira (formerly known as Milo) has a new album out. In an ode to poet Bob Kaufman, Ferreira delivers his artful and eccentric wordplay over twelve tracks while exploring the theory of harmonious structures. There’s frequent production shifts throughout each track as he conveys colorful depictions of oatmeal cookies, having selves within himself, the power of chaos, being many miles above sea level, and being an “abomunist.” Pink Navel, SB the Moor, and Eldon Somers all make features. With production that alternates between dreaminess, jazziness and contemplation, R.A.P. Ferreira accomplishes an esoteric exhibition that already anticipates the cultural reflection of what dropped and stuck out this year. And today is January 1st.
