AUDIO: Clonethekid – “I thought I was Evil”

Milwaukee based rapper Clonethekid released his knew project “I Thought I Was Evil” October 31st. The heavily anticipated Halloween drop lived up to the hype of the snippets dropped via the rappers Twitter. The EP is the first project of Clone’s in this weird 2020 dystopia we’re living in. That being said, Clone has had a few singles so far in 2020, one of which was a song dropped on Excision’s new label! Things seem to be trending upward for Milwaukee’s next big thing.

I think this project further establishes the versatility and star potential of the young rapper. With songs like “Steak Money” a song that feels more raw and hard, and “On My Mind” which almost feels indie in nature, it’s impressive the quality of both songs are so high. It’s not easy to make songs that feel so vastly different but are also your sound. I think this project provided a balance of all the things I enjoy about listening to Clonethekid’s music, and it makes me excited to think about the future. The only complaint I have is I wish there were more. Digital Dior, the rap collective Clone has been apart of has shown steady growth and output in 2020. It would be cool to see a full length project featuring artists from the collective sort of like what Internet Money did earlier this year.

You can find Clonethekid’s new EP on Spotify, Apple Music, and Soundcloud. We’re enjoying the EP and can’t wait to hear more!
