BLOOD is the solo darkwave project of electropop band GGOOLLDD’s Nicholas Schubert, and he’s out with his debut record today. While similarly synth-driven and danceable like GGOOLLDD, these tracks feature reverb-drenched vocals and shimmering, gothic production that feels like a windy fall night against a full moon. It’s a perfect release for Halloween weekend, for sure. “Pink Lights” climbs into a twinkling realm of magenta waves while “Go” takes us on a high-speed chase after the stars, to name a few. Although it’s shadowy, fans of GGOOLLDD and electronic pop are likely to find much to appreciate about BLOOD’s work. We look forward to what he’ll do in the future.
