Singer/Songwriter D.B. Rouse is preparing a new EP of material for release soon, and his first single from the project, “Talkin’ Neenah Blues” is out now. With just a guitar and a story, Rouse is able to describe childhood simply and adequately, reflecting on the small town that raised him. It’s quaint and heartfelt, much like you’d imagine the secluded Wisconsin town to be. Rouse’s spoken word style feels like it could be the narration of the opening scenes of a movie, with a descriptive tale of a young boy in the Midwest discovering how big life is.
