In just three tracks, the latest EP from rockers Bureaucratic Drift can sell you on fond times in the golden era of garage band pop punk. With lots of fuzz to it, offset by intermittent clean guitar lines, there’s elements of early Weezer influence with just as much pure apathy that plays across songs like “Death, Baby!!!” and “Pet.” It’s quirky, but with enough of an edge to drive the sincerity behind it’s carefree feel. If music moves in cycles, Bureaucratic Drift feel like a touch of the best of the 90s come back to life. It’s a welcome energy, especially in these times.
