Liv Held, vocalist for electronic project Dashcam, is out with her debut single and video. The shot opens with Held on the beach watching the sunrise as seagulls flock by. She’s shown with her lover walking along the beach, in a pool, and in bed together. Floating in the water, she sings as her lover becomes increasingly distant. The song’s got a dreamy, angelic feel and features strings with chamber pop sensibility. It’s a tune about the imperfections of love and fluctuations of intimacy; Held makes use of metaphoric imagery to carry the complex emotions. The climax shows her underwater, screaming. Liv Held aligns sensual visuals with a powerful vocal performance, and we look forward to what she does next.
